Dream Realized…
April 29, 1982 was the beginning of business for Davio’s but
it was years in the making. As a busboy at Fiddler’s Three coffee
shop in the Long Beach area, David Johnson knew he wanted more. He
dreamed of opening his own restaurant where people would enjoy their
experience so much they would return and invite a friend as well.
After 16 years of planning and dreaming David was able to leave his
job with Fiddler’s (general manager over 10+ restaurants) and
open Davio’s Fine Italian Cuisine in Seal Beach, Ca. What began
as one man’s dream quickly became a family endeavor. His wife,
Gayle worked from home managing the office, while his son, Stephen
and daughter, Tricia were growing up. When the kids were old enough
they were “invited” to help out bussing tables. Gayle
took over daily operations of the restaurant in 1994 when David returned
to college, then seminary and later became full time Pastor of Sea
Ridge Church in Laguna Hills. After David passed away in November
of 2001 it was easy to continue his legacy. Davio’s mission,
vision and values are still alive and well. Simply Great: Atmosphere,
Quality and Service.
Davio’s celebrated 23 successful years in the Seal Beach area.
We were blessed to watch families and individuals grow and change,
dreams realized and achievements celebrated. We feel strongly that
we are still successful today because of the amazing customers and
staff that have been a part of our lives. On May 28, 2005 we served
our last dinner in our Seal Beach location. Construction of the Rossmoor
Shopping Center forced us to relocate.
July 18, 2005 marked the beginning of a new journey for Davio’s.
We are excited for the opportunity to extend our hospitality to a
whole new community. Davio’s is still very much a family run
restaurant. Owner, Gayle Johnson is supported by many family and friends
in the day to day workings of the restaurant. We look forward to meeting
you and making you a part of the Davio’s family. Come join us
for lunch or dinner. From

Reservations
Because of the size of our restaurant, we only take limited reservations.
Give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you at lunch,
we understand that you must return to work in time. In the evening
we take a limited reservation for parties of five or more.
If you are bringing a large party, let us know so that we can efficiently
plan and accommodate everyone. |
